DevOps is a Piece of Cake? Think Again!
Hold my coffee... Ah, DevOps. The magical land where code deploys itself, pipelines never fail, and production is always stable. Right? WRONG. Let's be real about what DevOps actually involves.

DevOps Engineer: The Most Misunderstood Role in Tech
DevOps Engineer: The Most Misunderstood Role in Tech Ever wondered why the role of a DevOps Engineer even exists? I got triggered today, and I'm here to clear some misconceptions. If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me to "fix the Wi-Fi" or "build a website," I'd be lounging on a beach by now. What people think DevOps engineers do: - Fix printers - Code 24/7 like robots - Control the cloud (whatever that means) What we actually do: - Automate everything (yes, even the boring stuff) - Prevent disasters before they happen (you're welcome) - Build stable, scalable infrastructure (well, most of the time) Think of us as IT pros... but with YAML files, automation tools, and a love for black-and-white terminal screens.
git commit -m 'New portfolio live' - CLI-themed DevOps portfolio
$ git commit -m "New portfolio live." I wanted a portfolio that actually reflects my day-to-day work, so I built a CLI-themed portfolio to showcase my DevOps projects. It was built using Replit AI, the fastest way I've found to turn a rough idea into a live website, with a bit of vibe coding along the way.
AWS goes down. Azure follows. Cloudflare joins the party.
AWS goes down. Azure follows. Cloudflare joins the party. At this point I'm not even troubleshooting… I'm just sitting here thinking, if the clouds keep crashing, what's the plan? And here's the funny part. Everyone says AI will take our jobs. Bro, AI can't even save its own infrastructure right now. Half the time it "optimizes" something and the other half it quietly breaks what humans already fixed So yeah, I'm a DevOps engineer. I'm supposed to be worried. But honestly? If outages keep happening like a monthly festival, AI isn't destroying our jobs… It's giving us more work than ever. Cloud down. Systems crying. Humans fixing. Same cycle. New buzzwords. AI will not replace us. But it might spoil our work first… and then spoil its own
